On May 27, 2024, the 6th
Annual All Star Music Award will be presenting Ramiro Mendez with a Lifetime Achievement award at the Alzafar Shrine Auditorium, 901 N TX-1604-LOOP W, San Antonio, TX 78232.
Mr. Mendez’s journey is one of service, dedication, and tireless commitment to numerous causes and endeavors. As a distinguished veteran, Mr. Mendez served his country with valor as part of the 1st Aviation Brigade, 61st Assault Helicopter Combat Company, stationed at Anson Heliport during the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice exemplify the highest ideals of patriotism and selflessness.
Beyond his military service, Mr. Mendez has left an indelible mark on various fields. As a seasoned professional in public relations and marketing, he has made significant contributions to KCOR Radio AM and KMLO FM 98.9, using his platform to amplify voices and promote meaningful dialogue. Additionally, his roles as editor and reporter for La Prensa International have helped shed light on important issues facing Texas and the wider United States.
Mr. Mendez’s dedication to community engagement is evident in his work as a promoter for Radio Festival 720 AM and as a former photographer, promoter, and director for San Antonio Community Pride TV-Cable Channel 19. His efforts have fostered a sense of unity and pride among diverse communities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mendez has been a staunch advocate for civil rights and social justice, collaborating with esteemed figures such as Jaime Martinez and others. His roles at KBUC Radio 830 AM, Aztec Cultural Center, and Gallo Enterprises Inc. have furthered his mission of promoting equality and inclusion.
A lifelong learner, Mr. Mendez pursued his education at San Antonio College and SAS College, studying architecture design. His thirst for knowledge and creativity has enriched his life and work, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Mendez has always remained connected to his roots. His education at Eagle Pass High School and Fox Tech High School laid the foundation for his future endeavors, instilling in him a sense of pride and determination.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication, it is fitting to honor Mr. Ramiro Mendez with this Lifetime Achievement Award. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come.
