Charles Mario Henry Sr, is a medically retired combat veteran who runs a financial consulting business, Henry & Co.,founded in 2012. Deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan in 2010, Charles spent 3 years on active duty Army with 101st Airborne Air Assault Division “Screaming Eagles” at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. During his time serving in the 96th Aviation Support Battalion he earned the Army Achievement Medal and Good Conduct Medal for his service.
After medically retiring from the United States Army, Charles earned multiple advanced degrees in Network Administration, Public Policy and Business. Charles began veteran’s advocacy in 2011 soon after his return home from the military. This was crucial to a “Life of Service” in which he has dedicated his life to.
Charles mentors transitioning veterans with start-up businesses and assists them with services and resources after their transition from active military duty to civilian life. From 2011 to present he served on many boards and served over 1500 veterans with his own funding. He recently accepted a position as Director of Military Outreach and Finance with the non profit Elevate our Veterans in San Antonio Texas. The organization aims to serve veterans, first responders and active duty members. all services free for members, including fitness classes, group therapy and nutrition partnerships with the community.
Charles was selected for Service Leadership Corp of Mission Continues where the top 70 veterans in the nation traveled and served different communities in asset based leadership in 2020. After he goes through each program with veteran organizations as an alumni, he then advocates for other veterans to utilize their programs as a trusted first hand resource. Charles was also selected for Storm the Hill with IAVA along with Common Defense pushing veterans legislation and lobbying work with multiple organizations for veterans throughout the nation.
During COVID19 Charles provided PPE supplies to the city and schools in the early stages when supplies were very scarce. He has sponsored and donated over 1 million to multiple communities, veteran organizations and social programs since 2011.Charles continues to serve and be a role model for every veteran in highlighting what you can achieve after military service.
