Latina Leadership Institute, a derivative of San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, offers a 6-month program for local Latinas who are interested in gaining skills to one day apply for a position on boards, commission, White House appointee or even political campaign management roles.
Adriana Pecina-Rios, Christina Perez and Priscilla Hernandez are 3 members of the current class of 35 local Latina leaders who were chosen for the current session which is expected to be completed at the end of next month. All of the women are to complete a project geared towards the communidad in which they will present at graduation.
“We are a sisterhood of women, trying to bring up new, powerful women,” says Pecina-Rios.
Currently, they are fundraising for LLI by selling the “Motivated Mujer” shirt which you can purchase at their event on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Tandem San Antonio located at 310 Riverside Dr. from 6pm-8pm where you can help the mujeres fuertes raise money for a great cause and take selfies while you’re there.
