Known by fans throughout the world for his beautiful baritone voice, Ricardo Montalban has been in the forefront of film and television. Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Mr. Roarke on “Fantasy Island,” Montalban was a famed actor in Mexico prior to signing a seven-year contract in 1947 to MGM where he worked with such legends as Frank Sinatra, Lana Turner and Clark Gable. In 1969, he helped fund Nosotros to fight stereotyping of Latinos in film and television. Though he suffered backlash, Montalban persevered and, in 1993, was presented the 29th Screen Actors Guild Achievement Award for fostering the finest ideals of the acting profession.
