Southside senior support organization, Ride Connect Texas, will host a zoom presentation called “Older People and the Holiday Blues,” this Thursday December 17, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. Sponsored by Devoted Health, the zoom course will focus on how families can be more supportive of our elders during this very nostalgic time.
The organization hosts frequent zoom sessions that discuss support topics like, “Taking the Keys Away and Other Difficult Conversations,”; “Top 10 Medicare Scams,”; and educational “Around the World Lectures.” Register in advance to learn ways for older people–and all people–to deal with the holiday blues.Register at zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_jOuJkEEsRuipWoLfxKetKA or send email to support@rideconnecttexas.org. The Holiday Giving Senior Food Distribution will be hosted this weekend, Saturday, December 19th at the Pica Pica Plaza Parking Lot from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Located at 910 SE Military Drive, families should register for the pick up by calling Ride Connect Texas at (210) 558-0007 or emailing debi@rideconnecttexas.org.
Requirements:
* Must be 60 years or older
* 1 bag of food per car.
* Registration required
Ride Connect Texas will close at noon, Wednesday, December 23. Phones will be answered 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Wednesday, 12/28 to 12/30 to schedule a ride. If no one answers at 210-558-0007, please leave a message. Regular ride times will resume beginning January 4, 2021.
