The Tejano Music Recording Academy (TMRA) announces the donation of musical instruments to the Southside High School Conjunto Cardenales. Los Cardenales is the first high school conjunto group in San Antonio. It is a program started by music teacher Anna Bustamente.
The donation will be presented on May 10, 2022 at 10 am at the Southside High School Auditorium located at 19190 US-281, San Antonio, Texas. The presenters will be:
• Francisco Chapa, TMRA President
• Jesse Turner, two-time Premios Tejano Mundial Male Vocal Performance of the Year winner • Zeke Campos, Conjunto Cats accordionist from Seguin, Texas
• Tristan and Dylan Ramos, accordionist and bajo sexto (respectively) from Lamesa, Texas • Mia Garcia, vocalist from Austin, Texas
• Siggno Kid
Jesse Turner is the lead vocalist/accordionist for Siggno. Siggno is the chart-topping Tejano band from Santa Rosa, Texas, recognized for their Rockteño sound. Zeke, Tristan, Dylan, and Mia are up and coming young Tejano artists…Tejano Next generation.
The musical instruments to be donated are a Hohner accordion and a Ymagen Bajo sexto. These instruments were presented to Tejano Music Recording Academy at La Segunda Entrega de los Premios Tejano Mundial 2022. The Hohner accordion was provided by Texas Latino accordionist Arthur “Tweet” Juarez and the bajo sexto by ES Ymagen Guitars.
Tejano Music Recording Academy
Tejano Music Recording Academy is a 501c (3) non-profit organization founded to preserve the music of the generations that came before and educate the next generations. “Tejano” music is rich in history as it is multicultural, multi-lingual, and expands across multiple musical forms.
The Tejano Music Recording Academy shall also advocate for the advancement and growth of the Tejano music industry. All aspects of the industry shall be emphasized and recognized from those who create to the listeners of the creations. Recognition is through the Premios Tejano Mundial, held annually. Through education, evolution shall be ensured.
