EVERYONE DESERVES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A SEAT AT THE TABLE

By Omekah Edmondson

Bexar County is committed to ensuring that small, minority, women, disadvantaged, disabled, veteran, and LGBTBE owned businesses have an equitable opportunity to participate in the County’s procurement process. To this end, Bexar County has contracted with Griffin & Strong, P.C. (GSPC), a law and public policy consulting firm to conduct a disparity study. The study will gather information necessary to determine whether all qualified firms have an equal opportunity to compete for and participate in Bexar County’s procurement of prime contracts and associated subcontracts.

GSPC will conduct two virtual public hearings on August 26 and August 27 to provide the public with the opportunity to share their experiences, both positive and negative, on doing business with, or attempting to do business with Bexar County. Community members are encouraged to participate and share feedback on how Bexar County can improve diverse representation in public contracting. The meetings will be held:

August 26, 2020 | 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

August 27, 2020 | 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Registration is free and advanced registration is recommended but not required to participate.

Meetings are facilitated and led by GSPC on behalf of Bexar County. As a part of the public record, all comments will be recorded and may be used as anecdotal evidence for the 2020 Disparity Study. For questions or concerns, email GSPC at BexarCountyStudy@GSPCLaw.com or call 678-364-2962 Ext.104.
