In 1995 Carlos Betancourt was named one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World,” and Hispanic Magazine’s “Under 30 and Successful.” A model-turned-artist, he has been painting for 15 years. His work, which sells for as much as $10,000, has been exhibited in art galleries and museums throughout the U.S and Latin America and featured in Cosmopolitan and Elle magazines. Both author Sandra Ciseneros and actor Sylvester Stallone own Betancourt originals. Having once been a struggling artist, he knows how difficult it is to succeed. “But then again, “ he says, “When everything else fails, you still have your art. It’s a positive stimulation for the mind, soul and spirit.” (Photo Courtesy of carlosbetancourt.com)
