Congressman Castro Visits San Antonio VITA Site to Highlight Ongoing Benefits of the Expanded Child Tax Credit for San Antonio Families

Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) will visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site at Family Service Neighborhood Place on Monday, March 21 at 12:00 PM to highlight the ongoing benefits of the expanded Child Tax Credit and urge families to file their 2021 taxes before the April 18, 2022 tax deadline.

In March 2021, Congressman Castro voted to pass the American Rescue Plan and expand the Child Tax Credit to create one of the largest tax cuts for families in our nation’s history. To claim the second half of the expanded Child Tax Credit, San Antonians must file a 2021 tax return and provide the IRS with the necessary information to calculate and issue their full payments.
