Kim Bishop holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Art, a Master of Arts in Gifted and Talented Curriculum from Texas State University, and four lifetime Texas Teaching Certifications.
Bishop has been an arts educator for over 30 years, 28 of them in the Texas Public School system.
A painter, printmaker, and sculptor, her work is included in the permanent collections of the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the San Antonio Public Library.
She is currently working as a full-time artist out of her San Antonio- based studio, and teaches community classes part- time at the Southwest School of Art, and with local sustainable art and education nonprofit Spare Parts.
Her work is informed by her experiences as an educator, a social engagement artist, and as a resident of San Antonio.
