Anna Arce, a San Antonio native, has been a creative force in the local art scene since her early years. Born and raised in the heart of San Antonio, Anna’s artistic journey began at St. Anthony Catholic School, where her talent was recognized early on by her art teacher. It was there that she first discovered the San Antonio Poster Contest, an event that would become a significant part of her life.
Anna’s first taste of success in the contest came in 2012 when she won one of the top selections in the middle school category. Encouraged by her early achievements, she continued to participate, and in 2015, she secured the top prize in the high school category, marking a significant milestone in her artistic career.
After graduating from St. Anthony Catholic High School in 2017, Anna pursued her passion for art by enrolling at Schreiner University in Kerrville. In 2021, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, honing her skills and refining her artistic vision.
Inspired by her Mexican heritage and her family’s love for Loteria, Anna’s winning poster design reimagined the El Musico playing card to highlight female musicians of conjunto music. Her design not only paid homage to her cultural roots but also celebrated the role of women in music—an idea close to Anna’s heart.
Currently, Anna is furthering her education as a graduate student at Saint Mary of the Woods, where she is studying Art Therapy through their online hybrid program. Although she is taking a semester off at the moment, Anna remains deeply committed to her artistic pursuits and continues to be an influential figure in the San Antonio art community.
With her passion for art, dedication to her craft, and a string of successes in the San Antonio Poster Contest, Anna Arce is undoubtedly a rising star in the world of graphic design and visual arts. Her unique perspective and boundless creativity promise to make a lasting impact on the art world for years to come.
